Yes we have made it to St Ives - we came down on the train yesterday and indulged ourselves with a sleep in this morning. We have spent the day meandering around St Ives and enjoying our surroundings. Lots of wonderful fish - if you knew just how expensive fish is in Perth you would appreciate that we really enjoyed our dinner last night at Beach - we shared wonderful sweet mussels in a lovely sauce and then I had pegrim I think - local flat fish -I love NZ flounder - I will have to check the spelling but it was really fab. Today we had a Cornish pastry but we nearly lost interest when buying it - a smile goes a long long way.....
Walking around St Ives
And some more
And still some more
Then a drive back to Carbis Bay via Penzance and had a see to Mount Michael in the distance
Somehow my other photos have disappeared.
We had a great show at Ally Pally - caught up with loads of people and sold a lot off stuff. I enjoyed some of the exhibitions - Dorothy Caldwell - Ruth Issett - and others . I spent a few moments in the panorama room visiting Margaret Beal but I found it very claustrophobic and at times everything was rather hot. Loved seeing Hilary Beattie at work - she is very enthusiastic.
Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn had an exhibition - this is one of Jean's pieces.
Right now we are relaxing at our apartment in Carbis Bay looking out to sea with a glass of white wine. Off for further explorations tomorrow

The fish sounds like megrim sole - bought some tiny ones once, described as 'mini megs'! I've only ever seen them down there, we buy our fish from Newlyn.

I think I may have been to St.Ives many years ago when our kids were small. Too busy with them to take it in and don't remember it at all, but would love to return - it looks beautiful. Love your photos.
Dale how I do envy you your visits to St Ives and Penzance - we holidayed down that area most summers when I was a child in England, your photos brought back such happy memories, thank you!
We had a lovely explore around that area in 2011 Dale. We went across to St. Michael's Mt . Loved the castle and it's contents and the herb garden that could be seen from the window so far down below. We also went to the Eden Project if you have got some spare time.
We went to several little seaside villages down there. Loved it.Enjoy!
The drive along the coast road from st Ives to St Just is lovely and from St Just it's only a mile or so to Cape Cornwall which is close to but better than Lands End. Lots of photo opportunities and if you're lucky a seal or two! Hope you enjoy your stay.
