More excitement

Passed this yesterday on our travels - wouldn't mind having this for our letterbox at home

Cape Cornwall - loved it

Three little boats at Cape Cornwall

The sea

At Cape Cornwall too

Then we took a cross country trip to Mousehole - we are getting good at cross country trips although this one wasn't muddy like yesterday's one - Wind in the Willows stuff - Ian just needs giggles and leather gloves

Parked at Mousehole - interesting town

Like a little secret

Love the pots - look at all the texture for some great Stitchy stuff

And the boats all tied up

Last night we went to Albi Restaurant - this was our shared mussel starter - nice and little and sweet

Ian had a pork main which he said was lovely

I am still enjoying the fish - this is Plaice Normandie - a stack of fish fillets - yum
ps if the pics end up on their side (!) - click on them - they seem to be okay then.

Out and about some more

Today we did a trip from St Ives round and back again exploring places. some suggested by you lovely people so thanks for all the suggestions. Can't get to them all though but trying. First we bought some new little mugs from Leach pottery and then we went to Zennor - we loved the landscape and really it is all pretty close.

Wonderful landscape and we went to the Tin Mines - reminded Ian of the West Coast South Island

Just a few old rocks with lovely lichen - don't see so much lichen in OZ

Lots of scenes like this and wonderful seascapes too

Picture framing

Somewhere on the way

Thanks to someone's suggestion we visited Cape Cornwall after a stop in St Just - what a wonderful spot. we didn't go to Lands End because we enjoyed the views etc so much here.

I think these people were the local camera club - they probably viewed my I phone with horror

A few pots for interest

And a boat

Loved the pots - so much potential for stitch and stuff
The rest of my photos have not arrived in my I pad from my phone so more piccies of trip today - tomorrow - but we went to another delightful spot after that.

Yesterday on the King Harry Ferry - Ian was fascinated by the chains they use

Last night we went to the Ocean Grill in St Ives - I had Cornish sole wrapped with dill - lovely again

Ian had Bass which he said was great too

Finally - having found all of these lipsticks in my handbag etc I thought I would use one as a resist and colour over the top with the Magical Micas making a water wash - worked a treat.
Our food keeps turning itself on its side but if you really want to see it click on each pic and it comes up okay - well on my computer it does

Lovely day out

Today we went to Fowey - I have always wanted to go visit - smugglers and all that not to mention the ancestors

Long walk down from the car park and - you guessed it - long walk back up again but I survived amazingly

Lovely sheltered harbour - lots of yachts - pretty sure Grant may have sailed here? Some stage

We had lunch here - fish again - given the price of fish in a Perth I am on a fishy week

Looking further out with the sun shining but the sort of weather you might think smugglers would operate in.

Some more harbour because I love the water

And yes - looks like NZ toi toi and I also saw cabbage trees and flax - I thought they were native to NZ but it looks like they may all have been taken to NZ

Looking out to sea and a yacht on the horizon - it was very windy around and about but sheltered in Fowey. Isn't this the life to die for?

And here's the cabbage trees - made us feel very much at home.
Fabulous spot - so glad we went. I read about the Prideaux in a book in the bookshop while we were there - some of the ancestors.

And here is the flax!

Still more Fowey inlet

We came back on the King Harry Ferry

Last night we went to The Black Rock in St Ives - wonderful food - we had mussels to share for starters and this is crab gnocchi

Then we finished with a late picked something or other.
More to see tomorrow - thanks for all the suggestions - we are working on everything!

On holiday

Yes we have made it to St Ives - we came down on the train yesterday and indulged ourselves with a sleep in this morning. We have spent the day meandering around St Ives and enjoying our surroundings. Lots of wonderful fish - if you knew just how expensive fish is in Perth you would appreciate that we really enjoyed our dinner last night at Beach - we shared wonderful sweet mussels in a lovely sauce and then I had pegrim I think - local flat fish -I love NZ flounder - I will have to check the spelling but it was really fab. Today we had a Cornish pastry but we nearly lost interest when buying it - a smile goes a long long way.....

Walking around St Ives

And some more

And still some more

Then a drive back to Carbis Bay via Penzance and had a see to Mount Michael in the distance
Somehow my other photos have disappeared.
We had a great show at Ally Pally - caught up with loads of people and sold a lot off stuff. I enjoyed some of the exhibitions - Dorothy Caldwell - Ruth Issett - and others . I spent a few moments in the panorama room visiting Margaret Beal but I found it very claustrophobic and at times everything was rather hot. Loved seeing Hilary Beattie at work - she is very enthusiastic.

Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn had an exhibition - this is one of Jean's pieces.
Right now we are relaxing at our apartment in Carbis Bay looking out to sea with a glass of white wine. Off for further explorations tomorrow

Ally Pally

We locked the gate and left the bottlebrush in charge

Harley helped me pack but we left her in charge under the food care of Patricia

Had a good flight as good as long haul flights ever are and enjoyed a coffee at Heathrow - we must have been the first plane in at 5.30am

Then we hopped on the Piccadilly line all the way to Wood Green and took the bus up the hill to Alexandra Palace

Our stand and stuff awaited us

We set up in record time - it is the start of day three so it doesn't look like that now

My best find so far have been the little golden cocoons but it has been wonderful catching up with friends, colleagues and customers. We have had some lovely meals in Crouch End where we are staying

Two more days and it will be over and we will be off to Cornwall
