Friday night and all is well

It is the end of the week, I have made a curry, Miss Marple will be on the telly soon and we are about to settle in with a glass of Chardonnay after a busy week. Newsletter was only one day late and nearly all the POMs (product of the month) have been sent out and I am in love with my new rayon thread - Stonehaven - i have been stitching and stitching - lots of pebbles to burn parts away.

Here is some of the Art U Wear from Textile Art Festival and of course I don't know who they belong to - if you know please let me know. They all looked so much better in situ of course. They may put them on the textile art site. Next year I do believe the show will be in July.

My news is that I will be a working artist in Hamilton at the craft show and be showing the Textile Tantrums. Most exciting. Off to eat some pappadams before Ian cleans them all up.

I cooked curry tonight too. The ArtUWear pics are fantastic. Which Miss Marple do you get? We liked Joan Hickson best, not so keen on Geraldine McEwen who took over from her and think Julia McKenzie is doing a good job - she's our latest Miss Marple. Great news about the Hamilton craft show.

I have a few more photos on my blog, but I don't know who made the ones here either. I enjoyed Miss Marple last night, will be interesting to see Julia McKenzie, Geraldine McKewen grew on me. I hope you are right about the Textile festival being in July next year - suits me much better. Cheers, Robin

The bottom image " Kirry Elizabeth Toose’s dramatic entry, Alice's Coat, is black and white based on the colours of the traditional printed word with simple illustrations. The Alice story may be nonsense but there is a depth reflected in the conundrum of her garment. Kirry used woollen fabrics, a textile usually worn for protection and warmth, but in her garment the body is exposed. The collar is not quite as expected - it's asymmetrical and breaks with tradition."

Middle image "Anne Ensoll’s garment, Alice in Underland explores how Alice could fit into our Australian "Underland." Certainly, no Australian bird would allow anyone to use them as a croquet mallet. However, an emu queen might find Alice makes a fine, feathered companion. She’d definitely fit right in with the folks at Birdsville. "
