Marrakech

Having a great time in Marrakech. Have managed to get lost in the markets and had to pay someone to take us back to our riad. Yesterday we went to the Atlas mountains where a very nice young man aka the guide pulled me all the way up to the waterfalls and somehow we came back with a carpet and 2 large plates.

Back to London on Monday but plenty of pics later

Hope you don't get too lost, but keep an eye open for their cactus silk, they have some really intresting fabrics.

Glad it's working out OK. We loved it and can't wait to go back. Getting lost in the souk is obligatory. Hope you bargained for the goods - takes a long time to buy in Morocco. Safe journey back.

A carpet and 2 large plates eh...don't tell me you are going to start eating off the floor now.
Seriously-it sounds as though you are enjoying yourselves.

15. I have been to Marrakesh few month ago! We started in the north with the suuqs, continuing through the town square of Jemaa l-Fna with its crowd of storytellers, musicians and the Koutoubia mosque which is visible from practically anywhere in Marrakech.
Going beyond this, the Menara gardens- by young Marrakechians considered as the most romantic place in town- is high up on the list. We lived in the riad (a traditional Marrakech property with an interior garden)!
Marrakech has the largest traditional market (souk) in Morocco! It is really huge market! Like many North African and Middle Eastern cities, Marrakech comprised both an old fortified city (the médina) and an adjacent modern city (called Gueliz). Throughout our stay, we had the opportunity to sample a variety of tagines, including lamb, chicken and vegetable. All were unique and delicious, full of fresh ingredients and local seasonings.
Morocco is interesting and exotic country!
